Introducing Emily

Emily Quick in a garden.

Welcome! I'm Emily - a singer, actor, and voice teacher. I am based in Schenectady, NY, but lately, I spend most of the year in Houghton, NY. I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Greatbatch School of Music at Houghton University, and am currently pursuing an M.A. in Music with a focus in Acting, also from the GSoM.

It was in high school drama club that I truly discovered my passion for theatre. Performing in both plays and musicals gave me an outlet to express myself in a completely new way. In 2018 I was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the Schenectady Light Opera Company (SLOC) High School Musical Theater Awards for my role as Vi Moore in Footloose: the Musical. Since then, I have gone on to perform in a variety of other shows including Pyramus & Thisbe (2021), an original operetta written by Drew Bundy based on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, where I originated the role of Thisbe.

In addition to acting onstage, I also have experience directing. I made my directorial debut in 2023 as the assistant musical director for Schalmont High School's production of Chicago. I have also served as the assistant director for several productions produced by the Houghton University Lyric Theatre, including

La Serva PadronaAlice by Heart, and An Evening of Opera & Shakespeare. In the summer of 2024 I served as the music director for the Schenectady Summer Theatre Camp's production of Swamped.

I absolutely love what I do, and am eternally grateful for every opportunity I have to create art with wonderful and talented humans!
