Introducing Emily
Welcome! I'm Emily - a singer, actor, and voice teacher based in Schenectady, NY. Recently, I've also explored the writing side of theatre, with my most recent performance being Here Write Now, a brief jukebox musical with an original script that I used as a component of my graduate thesis.
I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Master of Arts in Music with a focus in Acting, both from the Greatbatch School of Music at Houghton University. The years I spent there provided invaluable experiences, such as performing in Pyramus & Thisbe (2021), an original operetta written by Drew Bundy based on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, where I originated the role of Thisbe. Some of my other favorite roles include Amalia in She Loves Me, Phoebe D'Ysquith and Papagena in An Evening of Opera and Shakespeare, Cinderella in Into the Woods, and Meg in Little Women.
In addition to acting onstage, I also love to direct. Since 2023, I have worked as the assistant music director and production assistant for the Schalmont High School Drama Club. We're currently preparing for our spring production of Mamma Mia and I am so excited to work with these incredible students! For the past two years, I have also served as the music director for the Schenectady City School District's Summer Enrichment Theatre Camp, which is always a blast! Additionally, I have worked as the assistant director for several productions produced by the Houghton University Lyric Theatre, including La Serva Padrona, Alice by Heart, and An Evening of Opera & Shakespeare.
I absolutely love what I do, and am eternally grateful for every opportunity I have to create art with wonderful and talented humans!
